Although our Club does not formally do "rescue," there is information available from time to time about Labrador Retrievers in need of a loving home.

When we learn of Labrador Retrievers in need of a home for any reason, the information will be put on our  web site.  It is hoped that by getting the word out, that some of these Labs can be successfully adopted into appropriate and loving homes.  Please check this page often for any information on Labs in need of rescue!

Please visit Rudy's Rescue, Rochester, NY's only Labrador Retriever rescue organization, for information on Labrador Retrievers in need of fostering  and adoption.

BARLEY

Barley is an owner surrendered 7 year old, neutered chocolate Lab.   He is full of energy.   He was kept outside most of the time so is probably not housebroken but can be trained. He won't need much work.   He is crate trained and knows basic commands such as sit, down and come. He's been fine with other dogs. He's on the dominant side, but not aggressively. He's just a big boy. Probably about 85lbs. But he's full of love, kisses and wants his belly rubbed. He's really your typical chocolate lab. Sweet and full of energy....even at 7. With a little bit of work, this dog is going to be wonderful.

He can also be seen on the Pet Finder Link on the Rudy's Rescue Web Site

Dillon
DillonPhoto
Dillon is a wonderful 1-2 year old lab mix at Rudy’s Rescue.  He is young, energetic, and full of fun!  Dillon loves playing with other dogs, but does not do well with cats.  His ideal home would have no young children (they would get knocked over by him in his exuberance), no cats, a dog to play with, and a fenced in yard.  He may do great with a ‘job’ of some sorts – either playing a game like flyball or agility, or possibly as a hunting dog or police dog.  He is house trained, crate trained, neutered, up to date on shots, and about 75 pounds.
Dillon is VERY toy and food driven.  He will jump up if he thinks you have anything good in your hands for him.  He loves to play fetch (although would rather not give it back at the end, but play tug with it).  Dillon is VERY strong, and fast.  He is a sweet dog, who needs some type of ‘job’ to channel his energy into.  He plays hard all day, and then sleeps soundly all night.  He does currently live with 2 cats, but if they lock eyes, we have to separate them quickly or he will pounce on the cat.

Arianna (Ari):

January 2008

Arianna, born 5/11/99, is exceedingly sweet and cuddly, but needed a new home because her human's grandchildren were not leaving enough time and energy for everyone. Arianna has been adopted by a couple who had just lost their Lab and wanted a companion for their 11 1/2 year old Golden Retriever. Arianna will be forever loved now!

BOOMER

August 2007

Because of his former owner's serious allergies, Boomer, a wonderful, well-behaved year-old yellow lab needed a new home. Rebekah Loveless, a friend of the Lab's owner, asked the club to spread the word. She happily reports Boomer has found a wonderful home. Boomer's new family already has a 13-year-old chocolate Lab that they adore. Boomer "slept on their bed last night," Rebekah adds. "He gets along great with their other dog and they said 'he is a keeper.' They love him, and he will be able to go swimming every day, as they live right on the lake in Pultneyville. He is already jumping off their dock. It looks like he has found a wonderful, 'forever" home,' and we are so happy. Thank you for all your help!"

SULLY

April 2007

Sully was going to be "put down" by his owners because they said he was "destructive."  His trainer encouraged them to surrender him to Dr. Sandra Corrie.  (They bought a new puppy that same weekend!)  Dr. Corrie found him to be a great dog with only minor issues and nothing out of the ordinary for a rambunctious two year old Lab.  A wonderful, loving and forever home was found for this deserving guy.  His new family is delighted with him and look forward to many good years with a great friend.

CHANCE

December 2006

Chance, 7 years old, was the product of a divorced home.  His owners boarded him for several months, got back together, sold their home and moved into a "no pets" apartment!!!!!  Fortunately Chance was adopted into a forever and loving home in December, 2006.
